I'm looking mainly for personal and blog sites but will also accept cliques, site listings, fanlistings, fansites, etc assuming that I would be moved to join them myself if I stumbled across them on the net. Also though, if any of the latter sites are accepted they would also be required to follow all rules as would anyone else including but not limited to rules # 002 and 004.
[ 02 ] No direct linking.
While I will say that I have plenty of bandwidth to go around, I want to make sure that my domain and the sites that are on it, whether they be mine or that of my hostees, are able to load quickly and navigate easily. If necessary though, I will host guestbook images and/or haloscan images.. but these acceptions must be ok'ed prior to being used.
[ 03 ] Sites must be in English.
The majority of my visitors are English and read nothing but. I prefer to cater to them and while I have studied other languages myself, I am fluent in only English and if I can not completely understand your content, what good would I be as a hostess? However, sites in other languages may be accepted as long as complete English translations are provided.
[ 04 ] Sites must be updated at least once every other week.
I love visiting websites and I love commenting. I want family members that are just as happy and excited as I am to be on the internet. Having the freedom and ability to have a website, say what you want on it.. design it however you like.. and express yourself in a way that may not be acceptable in our every day lives is a marvelous thing!
[ 05 ] No layouts/ content with excessive nudity are acceptable.
No porn and things of that nature, naturally. However, artistic layouts with nudity may only be accepted as long as all genital areas are covered. Skin is a natural thing.. But that doesn't mean I want to see a female in erotic lingerie (or similar ideas) posing anywhere on my domain. If you have a question concerning a specific graphic, send it to me first to see what I think. I can be very openminded but I do have certain expectations.
[ 06 ] No BOYS allowed. *cheesy grin*
I'm not being sexist.. I just don't want to host anyone of the male gender. Sorry. I'm married and don't need to be getting random e-mails from men. Straight.. gay.. doesn't matter. No boys means no boys. *shrug* Feel free to protest. There is a contact form under.. *gasp*.. You guessed it! - "Contact".
[ 07 ] Sites must be maintained by one person only.
I will not host sites maintained by more than one person. Password and e-mail account sharing is strictly prohibited and will really make me angry if I find out it has been done.. family members, friends, boy/girlfriends, and parents included can get their own accounts. This action results in immediate site deletion.
[ 08 ] Hostees must create their own layouts/graphics.
Being hosted is a privilege. Anyone can use a layout made by someone else. There is a certain honor that comes with posting your own art work. Gift layouts are ok but obviously.. if it's just a gift, not every layout will be a gift from someone else.. Get it? /wink.
[ 09 ] Hostees must install their own CuteNews/Wordpress/etc.
I will do whatever I need to do on the server side to assist you in the process. However, I will not install it on your site for you. It's all a learning process. I will not assist someone in taking the easy way through things. If I did it for you, how would you learn to do it yourself?
[ 10 ] Hosting may be unavailable to those under 17.
Again, those in my family must have a certain level of responsibility and that rarely comes with anything but age. I certainly don't want a hostee where they dissappear every other week because school work gets to be too much. We've all been through that and while I do remember how tough things can be, if you don't have time to upkeep a site maybe you shouldn't have one. However, I was a very responsible young adult and know that they do exist. Exceptions may be made in some cases. Just contact me, what do you have to lose?
[ 11 ] You will have 7-10 days to get your site up.
As long as you have an organized and updated website, there is no earthly reason why it should take you two weeks to get a site up. If I can get my domain back in the swing of things in one week while working 50 hours a week, getting married, moving into a new house and still post two brand new layouts.. anyone else should certainly be able to move a site from one place to another in less than 10 days. Trust me. Otherwise, look for a new host. I have tons of patience but I will not be taken advantage of.

I think this is a really important rule. Afterall, if you don't like me.. why are you applying to be hosted by me? And if you do get along with me.. why wouldn't you want to join? If you apply and are accepted, you will be expected to join my fanlisting.

If I can host you for free, you can post this banner (or something similar, must be oked) on your website for me. Please right-click and "save as" to your new home. Post it on either your splash page or your main page and link it back. No shadowed corners. No exceptions. However, please feel free to colorize it to match your layout!
[ 14 ] All hosted sites must have a commenting system.
I like to comment on my hostees' sites. I like to keep in touch and visit often. I consider my hostees friends and I think that having a commenting system such as Haloscan is essential. Tagboards and guestbooks are great but they do not count as a commenting system.
